Timeline

  • 1949: Born in Athens. Went on to complete secondary education at Halandri of Attica, then theology at the University of Salonika (earning a BD), doing honours in the faculty of practical theology at University of Salonika.
  • 1975: Ordained deacon, then priest.
  • 1976: Fr Seraphim served in the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain.
  • 1980: Fr Seraphim was transferred to Holy Metropolis of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, served as parish priest of Church of St Paraskevi.
  • 1986: Archbishop Stylianos invited Fr Seraphim to Australia. Appointed parish priest at Archdiocesan Church of St Eustathios, Melbourne, where Bishop Ezekiel of Dervis was serving.
  • 1991 Mar 12: Fr Seraphim elected Bishop of Apollonias.
March 31|31]]: Consecrated Bishop of Apollonias. Appointed to First Archdiocesan District of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, based in Sydney, as Assistant Bishop to Archbishop Stylianos.
