St. Innocent of Alaska - Missionary to Alaska

A missionary is a propagator of the faith, often an evangelist. The English word "missionary" is derived from Latin, the equivalent of the Greek-derived word, "apostle." Both terms, “missionary” and “apostle,” are derived from the word “send,” since Christ sent his disciples into all the world to proclaim the Gospel.
