Saint Teodor(Свети свечтеномученик Теодор Вршачки) was Serbian Orthodox bishop of Vršac. During the Austro-turkish war 1593-1606, Serbian pople suffered a lot from wild islamic wariors. Serbs in Banat decided to protect their families from Turkish troops. They asked their bishop Teodor to lead them. He joined rebellion against Turks 1593. Serbs liberate some towns but were defeated. Bishop Teodor with group of People left for Transylvania. Turks promissed that will stop killing of inocent people if Toedor came backe. When he came he was killed teribile death. His skin was ripped off. His feast day is May 16/29.
