Manuel of Crete
The New Martyr Manuel of Crete was a Christian of the eighteenth century who during his childhood was captured by Muslim Turks and compelled to convert to Islam. After growing to be an adult, he confessed his faith in Christ and returned to being a Christian. For being an apostate to Islam, Manuel was beheaded on the island of Chios in the Aegean Sea in the year 1792. He is commemorated on March 15.
