Talk:Diaspora

The Orthodox Church in America is not considered a "church in the diaspora" When they were a part of the Russian Church Abroad they could have been considered thus, but since they lay claim to North America, which is where ALL their parishes are located, they should be removed from this list.

I stand corrected, they have two parishes in Australia. Aside from that, all their parishes are on the North American continent.

The reference in the article is to parishes "outside their traditionally defined canonical territory," which for the OCA includes both the parishes in Australia and also those in Mexico (the tomos from Moscow excludes Mexico in paragraph 7[1]). —Fr. Andrew talk contribs 18:19, May 30, 2007 (PDT)
