{{cleanup}} Metropolitan SAWA His Beatitude '''Sawa (Michal Hrycuniak) was born on the 15.04.1938 in Sniatycze (near Zamosc). He finished a spiritual seminary and enrolled in 1957 at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw''', from which he graduated in 1961 with the title Archbishop of Master (M.A.) of theology. From 1961 to 1979 he lectured at the Orthodox Spiritual Seminary in Warsaw. Moreover, from 1962 to the present day he has lectured atthe Christian Theological Academy (ChAT). He obtained his first ordination in 1964. In 1966, during the stay at the Orthodox Theologic Faculty of University in Belgrade, he received a title of Doctor (Ph.D.) of theology. Then he took the holy orders and was given a monastic name - Sawa. In the same year he received his next ordination. In 1970 he became Archimandryte. In 1978, on the basis Metropolitan of his qualifying thesisAll Poland, he became a reader of the dogmatic orthodox theology (he payed hability dissertation in Christian Theological Academy and he received degree hability Ph.D. from orthodox dogmatic theology - is the title existed in Poland). It was also then that he was appointed to a post of a docent and manager current head of the Chair autocephalous [[Church of the Dogmatic and Moral Theology in Christian Theological Academy. He ==Biography==Born on [[April 15]], 1938, in Sniatycze (near Zamosc), Michal Hrycuniak completed a spiritual seminary and then enrolled in a Master of Arts in Theological Studies in 1957, graduating in 1961. Michal began lecturing at the Orthodox Spiritual Seminary in Warsaw in 1961, and since 1962 he lectured at the Christian Theological Academy (ChAT), something he has continued to do to this day. In 1964, Michal was ordained to the diaconate. In 1966, Dcn Michal received his Ph.D. in Theology from the Orthodox Theologic Faculty of the University of Belgrade, after which he was tonsured with the name Sawa. In the same year, Hdcn Sawa was ordained to the priesthood and was made director of the Office office of the Orthodox Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland from 1966 . Fr Sawa was elevated to [[archimandrite]] in 1970. In 1970 he , and was nominated as a named prior of male monastery under invocation St. Onufry in Monastery, Jableczna. Sawa stopped lecturing at the Highe Orthodox Spiritual Seminary in this monasteryWarsaw. In 1979 he obtained bishop's ordination. At the beginningsame year, he Archim. Sawa was consecrated to the Head episcopacy as head of the Lodz-Poznan Diocese. In 1981, and from 1981 of he was transferred to the Bialystok-Gdansk Diocesediocese. In 1987 he , Bp Sawa was elevated to Archbishop. In 1990, the president of the Republic of Poland nominated as an archbishopAbp Sawa to be a professor of theology; since March of that year, he holds the Orthodox Theology Chair at the University of Bialystok. In 1994, after forming thr having formed the Orthodox Ordinariate of the Polish Army in agreement with , under the Holy Council of Bishops blessing of the Polish Orthodox Church Holy Synod, he was nominated by the Minister of National Defence as the Elder of Orthodox Ordinariate of the Polish Army, called entitled a Field Bishop (until 1998). In 1996 , he was nominated on the brygadier made a brigadier-general.  In 1998, he ceased his role in the Polish army.
