Updated parish details and the Dean's details.
The Antiochian Orthodox Deanery of the United Kingdom and Ireland is a part of the Archdiocese of Western and Central Europe headed by Metropolitan John (Yazigi) of Western and Central Europe.
The Dean is Fr Michael HarperArchpriest Gregory Hallam, who was appointed in April 1996on 21st December 2009. He was elevated to the rank of Archpriest in 2006on 19th June 2010.
The Deanery includes twelve fifteen full parishes (including a cathedral in London), as well as six seven missions. Initially in 1995 most of the communities, with the exception of the cathedral, consisted largely of converts from the Church of England. By 2000 this had changed significantly with a much more diverse congregational profile.
All of the communities use English as the liturgical language. The mission of the Deanery and the Archdiocese to which it belongs is to enable the indigenous European cultures to rediscover and reaffirm their Orthodox roots whilst at the same time integrating Orthodox of many other backgrounds in a unified ecclesial whole, the hallmark of catholicity.
