A patriarchate is an autocephalous Orthodox church whose primate has the title of patriarch.

The current patriarchates of the Orthodox Church are the four ancient patriarchates of the Pentarchy, the Churches of Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem, along with the newer patriarchates, the Churches of Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Georgia.
