After Christ was [[Crucifixion of Christ|crucified]], he was laid into the tomb by [[Joseph of Arimathea]] and [[Nicodemus the Righteous|Nicodemus]]. During his three days in the tomb, Christ descended into Hades. He broke down the gates of Hell and released it's prisoners.
