Archbishop '''Methodios Fouyias''' (1925 - 2006) was a [[hierarch]] of the [[Ecumenical Patriarchate]]. He served as the third [[Archbishop]] of [[Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain|Thyateira and Great Britain]].

He was born in [[1925]], in the village Kalivia, in Corinthia. He received his bachelor degree in Theology from the Athens University in 1952 and continued his studies at the Manchester University in Great Britain from where he received a Ph. Degree in Philosophy in 1962.

In 1970 , he was appointed Theology professor at the Edinburgh University and in 1984 at the Boston Hellenic [[Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Theological Schoolof Theology (Brookline, Massachusetts)|Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Methodios Fouyias was [[ordination|ordained]] [[deacon]] in 1947 and [[priest]] in 1950.

He served as head priest of the Munich Hellenic Orthodox Community from 1951 to 1954 and head secretary of the [[Church of Alexandria|Alexandria Patriarchate]] from 1954 to 1956. From 1958 to 1960 Methodios was head priest at the Adis Abbeba Addis Ababa Hellenic Orthidox Community in Ethiopia and teacher at the Greek School there.

From 1966 to 1968, he was secretary of the [[Holy Synod ]] of the [[Church of Greece]]. From 1968 to 1979 he was [[Metropolitan ]] [[Bishop ]] of Ethiopia and from 1979 to 1988 Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain.
