==Life==Little is known of his life. Patr. Cosmas reposed ' early life including the date of his birth and activities either in 1736Alexandria or Constantinople.
Patriarch Cosmas was installed the first time as patriarch of Alexandria in January/February, 1712 and served until 1714 when he was install as Patriarch of Constantinople. There, he served until 1716. He was installed a second time as patriarch of Alexandria on [[September 23]], 1723. Patr. Cosmas reposed in 1736. He is not to be confused with a Coptic Orthodox patriarch who has the same name: Pope Cosmas II of [[Church of Alexandria (Coptic)|Alexandria (Coptic) ]] reigned from 851 to 858.
