Since the early 1990s Argos churchmen, who began searching for have been trying to locate the relics of St Peter . They were eventually found in the early 1990s, traced them to a monastery chapel near Rome. On 19 January 2008 the relics were ceremoniously returned by Vatican clerics to the Cathedral of Argos.
