This icon is commemorated [[August 13]] in the Old Calendar.</ref> The “Softener of Evil Hearts” icon is commemorated on the [[Sunday of All Saints]]<ref>http://www.antiochian.org/node/18648</ref>, although other references commemorate it [[February 2]] / [[ February 15]].
 
Since this icon originated in southwestern Russia (near Roman Catholic Poland), it is likely an Orthodox adaptation of the Roman Catholic imagery contained in the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_Sorrows Our Lady of Sorrows] devotion.
