Our father among the saints [[saint]]s '''Peter the Wonderworker, [[Bishop]] of Argos''', took upon himself a spiritual struggle of silence before finally accepting the entreaties of the people of Argos to become their [[bishop]] in the late ninth and early tenth century. He is commemorated by the Church on [[May 3]].

St Peter was born in Constantinople in 855. St Peter died at the age of 70 and was buried in Argos. Five hundred years later the Venetians and the Franks raided Argos and Greece and took away the saint's relics.

Since the early 1990s Argos churchmen, who began searching for have been trying to locate the [[relics of St Peter ]]. They were eventually found in the early 1990s, traced them to a [[monastery ]] [[chapel ]] near Rome.
