History
According to tradition, three sisters shared the same dream which was to construct this monastery; so the monastery was founded sometime in the 10th or 11th century. In 1822, St. Pelagia of Tinos (July 23) had a dream of a place where a Panagia Evangelistria type icon was found, now known as the Panagia of Tinos.
