Talk:Local Church of Witness Lee
Relevance?
As much as this religious belief system is...umm, well, I can't think of a sufficient adjective. Nonetheless, the article as it stands is a pure description of the Local Church of Witness Lee; OW requires articles about heterodox and other religions to be primarily focused on a comparison or the relationship between Orthodoxy and said other religion. — edited by Pιsτévο at 01:42, July 4, 2006 (CDT)
- I read Jehovah's Witnesses before I wrote this and there is little comparison there. I am qualified to discuss the beliefs of this organization but it might be better for another to make the appropriate comparisons. Please feel free to make such comparisons in the article. I aimed to keep the history brief, and I organized the "Key doctrines" section to make it easy to add comparisons, even if a general comparison at the bottom of each section is made.
- At the very least the subject matter illustrates the dangers of sola scriptura, interpreting the Bible for one's self, and the problem of thousands of little Popes. Willibald 02:04, July 4, 2006 (CDT)
- The Jehovah's Witnesses article doesn't have terribly much in the way of comparison (although the Scripture section is a start, and two of the links are especially good); however, as the {cleanup} tag at the top of the page indicates, it's not a model article. We used to have quite a number of articles that were mainly about other religions, however as they had no relation to Orthodoxy they had to be removed. If this religion was compared/contrasted with Orthodoxy, imho, there would be no need to delete it; rather, it would be a valuable addition to OrthodoxWiki. — edited by Pιsτévο at 02:33, July 4, 2006 (CDT)
