: You seem to have something of a track-record in using your position as a sysop as a means of gaining leverage in disagreements you are having with people, and at time when you appear to be emotionally affected by the disagreement. I've only been editing on Orthodoxwiki for a short while, and this is the third time I've seen you do it. I find it rather unimpressive, and I think it would be better were you not to use your position as sysop to arbitrate over disputes within which you yourself are personally involved. :Seminarist, I appreciate your concern. Although Fr. Andrew may be abrupt at times, I think he is trying to make about about the conditions of civil dialogue on the wiki. I have been editing with him for more than three years now... I hope you two can work out some of your differences in time. — <b>FrJohn</b> (talk) 23:12, May 23, 2008 (UTC)
::Hi Seminarist, Sorry for the delay in responding. Let me answer more generally -- I think it is generally inappropriate to use sysop powers to strong arm an opinion into an article. Sometimes perhaps, the issue isn't just one's opinion on a particular issue, but a bona-fide concern for the good of the wiki. Generally, I would see this touching on tone (the way in which something is said) and dealing with content that is not really appropriate on the wiki. — <b>FrJohn</b> (talk) 04:54, May 28, 2008 (UTC)
::: Regarding all this, I've commented over at Fr. John's Talk page. Just to be clear: You were neither threatened, nor was any action taken against you. I'm simply asking you to cut out the ad hominem, not "If you say mean things to me one more time I'm gonna ban you!" or somesuch. It's your behavior that's in question, not some "dispute." You've displayed that sort of behavior since you arrived here, beginning with your assault on someone else behaving similarly. That you happen to have directed it at me doesn't mean that I can't tell you to cut it out.
::: In any event, we don't yet have a specific protocol set up for mediating disputes involving sysops; simply laying down a policy that no sysop can say anything when subjected to ad hominem would be silly, since all an attacker would then have to do is simply insult any sysop who spoke with him. Thanks for the idea, though—I'm sure it's due to be addressed! —[[User:ASDamick|<font size="3.5" color="green" face="Adobe Garamond Pro, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman">Fr. Response to your comment on my Talk page:
*It doesn't require losing one's temper to tell you that you're acting like a jerk. Just observation.
*I didn't call you a jerk. I said you were acting like one. That I said that presumes that you're not actually a jerk (a presumption I perhaps ought not to make!), but that for some reason, your behavior conforms to that normal for a jerk. Why and how this is I can only guess. You could be losing your temper, or you could be doing it all in calm collectedness. Or you could have a Bot writing your text for you.
*Thanks for your admonitions on the priesthood. I'll take them under advisement. In all honesty, though, I have to tell you that after the creative series of accusations and nasty remarks you've leveled at me, I'm not overly convinced to take your advice. But thanks for it, nonetheless.
I've also commented over at Fr. John's Talk page. Please take special note regarding what's not okay about editing other's Talk page posts. I presume that it was unintentional. —[[User:ASDamick|<font size="3.5" color="green" face="Adobe Garamond Pro, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman">Fr.
