I don't much mind what you do with your own Talk page, but would you mind not erasing those of other articles? It's helpful to see where we've been and why we've done what we've done.

: My own thoughts are that if articles can be trimmed and made more concise, why can't talk pages? I like having an archive, but if a situation has been addressed then I personally think it makes things cluttered to keep them around. The discussion is archived in the changelog/history. My two cents. --Joe Rodgers 18:54, 28 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Wikipedia's usual approach (not that we have to do everything they do) is to make archival subpages when the given talk page gets too long. Sorting through a history can be extremely difficult and time consuming, especially if one isn't looking for something in particular but rather simply wants to know what the discussion regarding a given article has been.

I don't think this has ever been discussed between the sysops. I'm just one of them and by no means chief among them. We can certainly put it up for discussion, though, which I've done on OrthodoxWiki:Administrators. — 19:09, 28 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Hi Joe,

I just checked up on the IRC channel and I received the following messages:

:ChanServ changed this room to require operator status to change the topic. (11:46AM)
[11:46AM] ChanServ made this room no longer a secret. (11:46AM)
Given my IRC inexperience, maybe this is nothing to worry about - just normal, but I wanted to make sure our channel is still up and running in good standing, not quashed due to inactivity. What is the freenode policy on this?

Deanery

Were you aware that your source (La Crosse) is Roman Catholic? I don't know whether it makes any difference in the definition of a deanery, but I thought I should point it out anyway. —magda (talk) 07:41, January 19, 2006 (CST)

Yes I was. I am certainly not against Catholic, Protestant, or anything for that matter, when it coincides with truth. I was not able to find a reasonable online source from an Orthodox perspective and thought that these words were appropriate for Orthodox deaneries as well. Joe 20060119

Menologion

Joe, this is Aleks. I got you message recently. Can you elaborate in an e-mail on what exactly you're interested in making? I think it would be great to have Menologion and OW work together, but I want to figure out the logistics first.

Hi

Dear Joe, Thanks (belatedly) for your welcome note! Best, Maxim 12:39, June 28, 2006 (CDT)

Your sig

I've noticed that your sig isn't coming out quite right when you sign posts. IRC Channel still up?

Hi Joe,

I just checked up on the IRC channel and I received the following messages:

ChanServ changed this room to require operator status to change the topic. (11:46AM)

[11:46AM] ChanServ made this room no longer a secret. (11:46AM)
[11:46AM] You were demoted from operator by ChanServ. (11:46AM)

Given my IRC inexperience, maybe this is nothing to worry about - just normal, but I wanted to make sure our channel is still up and running in good standing, not quashed due to inactivity. What is the freenode policy on this?

Thanks! — FrJohn (talk) 09:49, May 26, 2007 (PDT)
