Collapsing templates
I'm honestly not really sure how to make a template collapse, and I also don't know whether the right modules are installed on OrthodoxWiki in order to make that happen, either.  You may be able to find some tutorials on the MediaWiki website or perhaps Wikipedia.  If you need something installed to make it work, FrJohn is the only one who can do it.  &mdash;[[User:ASDamick|<font size="3.5" color="green" face="Adobe Garamond Pro, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman">Fr. I've noticed you've recently made a huge number of edits all marked as "minor." Please remember that "minor" edits are things like fixing spelling, minor formatting issues, fixing links, etc.  Adding content is almost never minor. This may seem pedantic, but it's actually pretty important, since many folks filter what they see in edit histories so that they don't see minor edits.

Forgive me, but I think you're misunderstanding the purpose of OrthodoxSource.  It's to be a repository for documents and other content (e.g., audio files, full texts of articles, etc.).  It's not for synopses of DVDs, etc. There first needs to be a proposed category structure before some of the fancy template programming that you're working on will be useful.  Gotta build the foundation before installing the satellite dish! :)

:Vassiliki I revised the proposed outline for the eras; please have a look on the discussion page of the article. You were absolutely correct, the titles for the eras should reflect the history of the Church as much as possible. I think I have done this successfully for the eras up to 1485 AD - (have a look). After that time it is difficult to place a name on any period of British history as it relates to the Church, so we will have to go with the secular headings I think. Again, for the 20th century, if you can determine when each of the dioceses for the various Orthodox jurisdictions were established, we could create a sub-category with those dates. I think for now, we are good to go with the suggested outline. :) Angellight 888 03:53, May 26, 2009 (UTC)

::: As to why I reverted the main page on OS, there was really no need to create a "Main page" template to act as a container for other templates, since (like here) the Main page itself can simply act that way.  It created an unnecessary extra layer.

I gave it a try:

:::Yes, I am really upset with you today! You are the Sysop of Syops but what you do ... is that you DELETE first and talk later ... What if you deleted something good? Which you did. You deleted the entire FORMAT of the OS Main Page without any consideration for the time and effort that went into it. Another thing, just because you dont understand why I put a template inside the Main Page does not make it wrong and there could be a logical purpose for it.

:::Second, what I am in 'the process' of setting up DOES work ...since it has been tried and tested on WikiSource! How dare you presume that the structure I am putting in place is 'against' WikiGroup principles when it is a direct "method" from the Wiki group in the first instance! Just because you cant see it coming together yet does not make it wrong ... grrr ...you really just put a WHOLE WEEKs worth of work and effort and thinking down the drain without even asking me first! "Vicki, I dont like what you are doing ...and I am going to give you 24 hours to explain before I delete it!" something like that? Hi Vasiliki, it's good to see you here again! Welcome back :) Angellight 888 00:55, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
Vasiliki, I have honestly come to the conclusion that you will think I am attacking you no matter what I say or do.  I'm not really sure why, and I won't speculate as to your motives, personality, etc.  I have tried very much to be patient with you and will continue to do so, but I do hope that eventually you will realize that you're not being attacked or threatened.  I'm not sure what else to do beyond that.

Believe me, though, that I am quite familiar with "looking at the glass" from multiple sides, and I act based on what I think works best, based on years of experience.  If I genuinely wanted simply to attack people, I could (and I would hope that FrJohn would nail me should I do that).  (I actually used to make something of a hobby out of it when I was in university many years ago, but I left that behind.)

So believe me when I tell you that when I delete or alter something without making a proposal to do so first, it's not to annoy you (that could be done much more easily); it's because I think it's patently obvious that it needed to be done, most often because (especially in your case) it either breaks with existing conventions or duplicates something that's already been done.

Anyway, I'm going to try to ignore the discussions about the discussion, since that doesn't seem to go much of anywhere.  Do with that what you like, but know that you can never work on anything on the wiki without any "interference."  This isn't that kind of project.  If that's what you want, then I encourage you to get your own serve and set up your own wiki that only you have access to.  &mdash;[[User:ASDamick|<font size="3.5" color="green" face="Adobe Garamond Pro, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman">Fr.
