I was born Andrew James Hughes in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I was born to a Swedish/English Father and a Greek Mother.
I was not Baptized, or raised for that matter in any faith, until I was Baptized in the Orthodox Church at the age of Seventeen.
I spent much of my youth searching through religions and philosophies from all around the world. My search came to an end when I read The Orthodox Church by Timothy Ware (now Bishop Kallistos (Ware)). I was moved by the stories of the Saints. And found all the answers to the questions I had been longing for an answer to for so long, in the faith of Orthodoxy.
I try to keep up with my studying of the Scriptures, and reading the lives and writing of the Saints. I am not sure what the future holds for me, I just hope I can serve God in some capacity, as small as that may be for this unworthy sinner.
