Theodoros (Dimitriou) of Heliopolis

Antonios Dimitriou was born in Heraklion, Crete. He studied at and graduated from the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens. He was [[tonsure]]d a [[monk]] at the Monastery of Prevelis. Entering the [[clergy]], he was [[ordination|ordained]] [[deacon]] and [[priest]] by Metropolitan Theodoros of Lambis and Sfakion.
Heiromonk Theodoros served in the Metropolis of Lambis for the next seventeen years. His service included that as a preacher, vicar, and confessor. He also was the director of the Press Office and [[Chancellor]]. He was raised to the rank of [[archimandrite]] by Ecumenical [[Bartholomew I (Archontonis) of Constantinople|Patriarch Bartholomew]].
On [[November 1]], 2006, he was elected the first bishop of the Diocese of Mozambique and was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] by Patriarch [[Theodoros II (Choreftakis) of Alexandria|Theodoros II]] at the Patriarchal Church of St. Savvas in Alexandria on [[November 27]], 2006. Bp. Theodoros was [[enthronement|enthroned]] in Maputo at the Cathedral of Archangels on [[January 28]], 2007.
