What we know about St. Theoktiste of Lesbos, also known as Theoctiste of Paros, we owe primarily to St. Symeon Metaphrastes ("the Translator"), renowned primarily for his Lives of the Saints (148 of them). Theoctiste was born on the Isle of Lesbos, however, due to the archaeological and historical importance her association with the Paros has her classified as a local Parian saint. She is commemorated by the church November 9.
