this really should be under Protosyncellus, or even Protosynkellos. Protosyngellos is bad English and even worse Greek. [[User:StarovierEd|StarovierEd]] 09:32, March 13, 2007 (PDT)
: It's most often spelled ''protosyngellos'' in English sources, probably because that's roughly how it's pronounced. (That's the spelling used, for instance, in the Antiochian Archdiocese of N.A.) In any event, it's neither English nor Greek, but rather a Latinization of a modern Greek pronunciation of a Byzantine Greek word. —[[User:ASDamick|<font size="3.5" color="green" face="Adobe Garamond Pro, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman">Fr.
