You have not provided any evidence that St Gregory was not involved in the formation of the presanctified. He is the first known person to record the existence of the service, and was the apocrisarius of Pope Pelagius II in the court of Byzantium for six years. I have never heard anyone use the term "the Mass of St Gregory" as a reference to the Roman liturgy, including at our gatherings of medieval liturgical specialists. In doing a quick Google search, the first three pages of results for "Mass of St Gregory" referred to paintings or musical compositions.
