It took nearly two centuries for the schism really to take full hold. Antioch, for instance, was still in communion with Rome as of 1180, and there was still a Benedictine monastery on Athos as of 1287. &mdash;[[User:ASDamick|<font size="3.5" color="green" face="Adobe Garamond Pro, Garamond, Georgia, Times New Roman">Fr. I am not sure that the Benedictine monastery of Amalfion was commemorating the Pope of Rome until the thirteenth century. Existing literature seems to imply that they were in agreement on all theological points with the other monasteries of Athos. I may be in error. --JosephSuaiden 06:26, December 14, 2008 (UTC)
Where are the footnotes?
The text of this article contains footnote references, but it appears that the footnotes don't actually show up at the bottom of the article. I tried poking around in the editing help to see if it gave any clues about what might be wrong, but couldn't find anything. Steorra 03:28, December 14, 2008 (UTC)

Request for help on a Wikipedia article
There has been an edit war going on for some time now, involving the Wikipedia article on Catholic–Eastern Orthodox theological differences. One editor (who appears to have once been active here on OrthodoxWiki) is citing Vladimir Lossky's writings to advance a claim that Orthodoxy teaches the material body did not exist before the fall of man and will not exist after the resurrection. This claim is being disputed by another (non-Orthodox) editor, and I (also non-Orthodox) have been trying (largely without success) to mediate the dispute. I believe this article, and others such as East–West Schism, are desperately in need of participation from more editors with an Orthodox background. If anyone reading this is also editing Wikipedia, I hope you would consider having a look and seeing what you can contribute. Thanks. Richwales 05:33, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

A couple of observations
In discussing the meeting of HH John Paul II and HAH Bartholomew, the article says

"In 1995 (Jun 29), Pope John Paul II and Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople again withdrew the previous 11th Century excommunications and concelebrated the Eucharist together."

I've no idea from where this was copied but, as collegial and ecumenical as was the relation between the two hierarchs, they most assuredly did not concelebrate.

Elsewhere, in discussing ecclesiological issues, it is said:

"The relationship between the Antiochian Orthodox and the Maronite Catholic bishops is a case in point."

While relationships among hierarchs of the Middle Eastern Churches - Catholic and Orthodox (both Eastern and Oriental) - is generally close, as a consequence of being members of a collective (Christian) minority in a religiously hostile environment, whoever wrote that more likely meant to reference bishops of the Melkite Catholic Church, the counterpart Eastern Catholic Church to the Antiochian Orthodox Church.

Unless someone offers a different thought as to these points, I'd propose that the sentence regarding the '95 meeting be truncated after 'excommunications' and that 'Maronite' be replaced by 'Melkite' in the second instance.

I have gone ahead and changed the sentence reading

"Humbert, Pope Stephen IX, and Peter, Archbishop of Amalfi set out in early spring and arrived in April 1054." to correct 'Pope Stephen IX' to read 'Humbert, Cardinal Frederick, later Pope Stephen IX, and ... " Irish Melkite 12:12, May 8, 2011 (UTC)
