Fr Georges was a priest of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Protopresbyter is the highest rank among the Greeks and the Russians. Archbishop Chrysostomos of Etna, who studied under Fr Georges, wrote an article entitled "Protopresbyter Georges Florovsky" (http://www.orthodoxinfo.com/ecumenism/florovsky.aspx). In Constantine Cavarnos' book ''Father Georges Florovsky on Ecumenism'', there is a section entitled "A Note on Protopresbyter Georges Vasilievich Florovsky." --[[User:Fr Lev|Fr Lev]] 00:11, April 7, 2009 (UTC)
