:One point I do want to mention however, is have a look at the section on "Emblem of Church of Constantinople and Mount Athos" - I explained why that flag is used by the Greek Orthodox Churches of the *DIASPORA*, being under Constantinople, as well as the Ecumenical Patriarchate itself, and Mount Athos, --- as distinct from the emblem of the Church of Greece. You will see the Church of Greece has a different official depiction of the eagle, as does the Church of Cyprus. Took me a while to put it together because it is not something one usually thinks about, but they are in fact different usuages and are not interchangebale, strictly speaking of course. The Church of Greece, as an autocephalous church, would not have the Golden/Yellow flag, whereas your parish in Australia and mine in Canada would have reference to it.! ::Hi! I do not disagree with you on the technical because I have not researched it enough ... however, from practical experience (travelling in Greece) I know for a fact that MANY churches and monasteries in Greece fly the yellow flag with the flag of Greece on their churches and the monasteries. In Athens, they have the yellow flag ... I never really saw the flag with the white background and the red eagle [[User:Ixthis888|Vasiliki]] 04:08, April 24, 2008 (UTC)

Hi Vasiliki, thanks and cheers. Thanks to you for beginning it! Have a look at the whole now, and let me know what you think. I have added all I have at this point and am more or less finished. Only the section on the Byzantine beginnings may need more work and research. Plus whatever other points we may have missed.
