His Grace Most Reverend Eminence ''''Porfyrios Porphyrios (Mahairiotis) of Neapolis''' is the titular Bishop of Neapolis, assistant [[bishop]] to His Beatitude [[Chrysostomos II (Demetriou) of Nea Justiniana|Chrysostomos II]] of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus and head of the Archbishop Representation of Cyprus within the [[Church of Cyprus]]to the European Union.
==Life==
His Grace Porfyrios was born on [[April 16]], 1966 in the village of Pera Orinis in Nicosia, Cyprus. He attended the "National Martyr Kyprianos" Lyceum in Strovolos, graduating in 1984. Following his graduation, Porfyrios served his military obligation in the Cypriot National Guard until September 1986.
Upon his release from the National Guard, he entered the Archaeology Department of the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Athens, from which he graduated in 1990. Following his graduation from the University of Athens, Porfyrios continued his studies at the Theological Faculty of the University of [[Thessalonica]]. After graduating in 1994, he returned to Cyprus to teach at the Apostle Barnabas [[Seminary]].
In September 1995, Porfyrios joined the brotherhood of the [[Machairas Monastery (Cyprus)|Monastery of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) of Machairas]]. On [[August 15]], 1998, he was [[ordination|ordained]] [[deacon]] by Bishop [[Vasilios of Ammochostos|Vasilios of Constantia]]. In February 1999, following the election of the [[abbot]] of the Machairas Monastery, [[Athanasios of Limassol|Athanasios]], as Bishop of Limassol, Dn. Porfyrios joined Metr. Athanasios in his administration. In April 1999, Bp. Anthanasios ordained Dn. Porfyrios to the [[priest]]hood. In March 2000, he was raised to the dignity of [[archimandrite]], and then in December 2001, Metr. Athanasios conferred the dignity of Confessor on Archim. Porfyrios.
