:Yes, the number of bishops is becoming large. At times I've thought about other categorization but couldn't come up with a scheme without some sort of complications. One way would be by date, such as you suggest, but setting it at only century interval could lead to many bishops that span over a century change - would one then place the bishop in both centuries? Perhaps a greater time interval would work better. The 'by city' category is one course, but witness, there are a lot of cities! One thought I had, was to establish categories by autocephalous/autonomous churches with bishops outside of the recognized churches placed in a 'miscellaneous or other' category. There maybe other neater approaches - if we can come up with them!! [[User:Wsk|Wsk]] 14:33, February 7, 2012 (HST)

::Hi WSK, all very good points, I agree.

::In regards to categorization by DATE, we can overcome the difficulty of those bishops that span over 2 centuries, by creating categories such as: "18th and 19th Century Bishops", and "19th and 20th Century Bishops" etc., while still maintaining the individual categories for each century. Classification by date would be good to have I think.

::In regards to classification by JURISDICTION (by autocephalous/autonomous churches), I think this would be a second valuable method for classification and organization, as you say above, I also had the same idea before reading your comments. For these categories, we should perhaps draft a complete list of the category names first, here, before we proceed.

::And so, if there are no objections, I think we should proceed with both the DATE and JURISDICTION classifications at some point.
