Igumen Seraphim (Voepel) is the Deputy Abbot of the Hermitage of the Holy Cross, an English-speaking male monastery in the Eastern American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
Biographical sketch
In 1998 he was elected deputy rector of the Holy Cross Monastery[1].
In 2003: (At this time, Fr Seraphim was already a hieromonk and the superior at the Hermitage.
Oct 14 2008 hieromonk Seraphim elevated to Hegumen.
In 2009: Hermitage of the Holy Cross became an independent monastery. Bp George (who was already both the spiritual father of the monastery and in residence at the monastery) was made abbot; Hegumen Seraphim was made deputy abbot.
In 2011 Fr Seraphim diagnosed with kidney cancer. In 2012: Fr Seraphim diagnosed with squamous cell cancer in his right tonsil. Subsided in 2012, reappeared in Oct 2013.
