==Life==
Born Procopius Oikonomidis, in [[1837]], in village of Doumena near municipality of Kalavryta in Achaia, Greece which is situated in the northernmost region of the Peloponnese. Little is known of his life before he entered the university.
He studied Philosophy and Theology at the University of Athens and then furthered his education in Moscow, Geneva, and Heidelberg. He then entered the [[Holy Orders]]. After completing his education, Procopius taught at the Theological School of the University of Athens. It was during that time that he entered the [[Holy Orders]].
