"'''Orthodox Christian Laity (OCL)''' is an independently organized movement of Orthodox Christian [[laity]] and [[clergy]] involved with Orthodox Renewal in the Americas. The church today confronts a growing complexity of problems and concerns which include internal stresses and external attacks of a secular society. The laity need to understand its [[canon]]ical role in the life of the church. There is often an imbalance between the roles of clergy and laity. In response to these realitiesnational, voluntary, OCL exists movement dedicated to be an advocate for syndiaconia (co-ministry) of clergy and to inform laity who are concerned with spiritual renewal, accountability, and illuminate the Orthodox faithful by providing awareness through its educational ministrytransparency in Church governance. OCL fosters accountability from clergy advocates the establishment of an administratively and laity canonically unified, self-governing Orthodox Church in the administration and spiritual life of the churchNorth America."

The Established in 1987, the organization's [[patron saint]]s are Ss. [[Photini]] the Samaritan woman and [[Symeon the New Theologian]]. George E. Matsoukas Bill Souvall is the executive directorpresident.
