If items on this page have been addressed can they then be removed (e.g. The Creed, The Theotokos)? I think it would sharpen the focus. --[[User:Joe Rodgers|Joe ( talk » inspect » chat )]] 13:09, 4 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Sure, this is a pretty easy flowing page. Thanks - Fr. John

External Links

Hi, I have a suggestion that may or may not be welcomed. I was reading the Filioque page and thought on topics that discuss 'controversial" matters, the "External Links" should be clearly identified as either "Orthodox" sources or "Western" sources so that we know which links will take us to webpages supporting orthodox thinking and those that wont ... it might be clear for some people what is what but not everyone accessing OrthodoxWiki has that level of academic experience to know the difference and I think it would be good if some of the "regulars" could assist in doing this? Is this achievable? Good Idea? Vasiliki 17:14, April 3, 2008 (PDT)

Dear Vasiliki,
I think the problem here is that it isn't always so simple... In some cases, I could see this working well -- for example, I think it would be helpful to mark an article from a "Western" perspective arguing that Orthodox Christians are heretics because they do not accept the Filioque -- but even there the issue isn't simply the Western origin of the article -- some Western sources support and Orthodox opinion, and Orthodox writers certainly may be, and have been, wrong about many things. I guess it is much more important to me to ask if something accords with Orthodox Tradition no matter the source. (While at the same time, I think knowing the source is vital to intelligent reasoning.) Maybe others can weigh in here too? — FrJohn (talk)

RE: Ideas (news feature)

Very many thanks for the link to Orthodox Newswire. A brilliant tip (and much needed at this end)! http://en.wikipedia.org/ has a news feature 'In the news' on the homepage; perhaps there is some Wiki add-in that they use to automatically generate/update this feature? In Christ, --Arbible

They also have a dedicated http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Main_Page and a 'Current events' section http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_events

Feature added (using external RSS feeds) -- see Category:Newsfeeds. Fr. John

Thanks v much, Father. --Arbible 17:51, November 6, 2005 (CST)

Recently Canonised Saints

Hello, I only just found out that in Romania they canonised 2 more saints last year. St Dionysius of Dobrogea. St Neagoe Basarab the Heychast Prince of Romania. Finally the Ukrainians canonised St Gury Karpov who is well known to the Chinese people like St John Maximovitch. Has anyone created any articles for these three saints or has a specialty in the area of Romanian Orthodoxy that can assist? Vasiliki 03:10, January 5, 2009 (UTC)
