== Early life Life == He was born in selo village of Sokolovići near Višegrad. Grand Vezir The grand vizier of Otomane the [[Ottoman empire|Ottoman Empire ]], Mehmed-Paša Sokolović , was either his brother or first cоusin. Makarije reorganized the Serbian church, established new dioceses, and rebuilt many monasteries.
