From 1956 to 1961 - a student of Sofia Seminary. In 1970 he graduated from the Sofia Ecclesiastical Academy .
April 12, 1970 in Troyan Monastery Metropolitan Lovchanski Maxim (Patriarch of Bulgaria) became a monk with the name [[Joseph]] in honor of the righteous [[Joseph of Arimathea | Joseph of Arimathea ]]. May 3 of that year, the Metropolitan Lovchanskim Maxim has ordained as [[hierodeacon]]. On December 27 was ordained to the rank of a priest.
From July 1971 - Protosingel of Diocese of Sofia .
