John the Silent (452 - 558) was bishop of Colonia (Taxara) in Armenia and later a monk of St. Sabbas' Monastery. He is also sometimes known as John Hesychastes or John Silentiarius. His feast day is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on March 30.
