His Eminence the Most Reverend Metropolitan Isyhios (Condogiannis) of Capitoliad is the bishop of Capitoliad of the Church of Jerusalem.

Life

Elijah Condogiannis was born in 1944 in Aharnes, Attica, Greece. He moved to Jerusalem to continue his education at the Patriarchal school, arriving on October 20, 1958. He was tonsured a monk on December 18, 1961, taking the name Isyhios and was ordained a deacon the next day. In 1962, Dn. Isyhios graduated from the Patriarchal school before being ordained a priest in 1964

Assigned as abbot in Karak, Jordan, Fr. Isyhios was raised to the dignity of archimandrite in 1967. Later, he entered the Law School of the University of Athens.

On August 26, 1976, Archim. Isyhios was appointed a member of the Economic Committee and of the Board of Education of the patriarchate. On February 7, 1978, he was appointed president of the Ecclesiastic Judicial Court at Jappa in Israel, and in February 1981, Fr. Isyhios was appointed the Patriarchal Representative to Akra(Acre?).

On March 16, 1984, Fr. Isyhios was elected Bishop of Abelon by the Holy Synod of the Church of Jerusalem. He was, then, consecrated on March 26. Later, Bp. Isyhios was named the Patriarchal Representative to Irbet (Irbid?), Jordan. In 1991, Bp. Isyhios was elected Archbishop of Capitoliad, and in 1994 he was named Metropolitan.

In 1994, Metr. Isyhios received number of appointments to patriarchal offices including vice president of the Economic Committee and president of the Estate Committee. In 2001, he was elected a member of the Holy Synod as well as president of the School Board of Jerusalem and president of the Printing Office and Information. Then in 2003, Metr. Isyhios was named Patriarchal Commissioner.

In 2005, Metr. Isyhios was named Legal Counsel of the Patriarchate, and in 2009, he was named president of the Schools of the Patriarchate.
