Iakovos (Pachis) of Argolis
His Eminence Iakovos (Pachis) of Argolis is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Argolis under the jurisdiction of the Church of Greece. He has served as the ruling hierarch of the metropolis since 1985.
Life
Damianos Pachis was born in 1932 in Marousi, a suburb of Athens in Attica. After completing his formal education in theology, Damianos was ordained a deacon in 1959, with the name Iakovos, followed in 1960 as a priest. Fr. Iakovos served as Warden of the Metropolitan Boarding facility (Girls Orphanage) in Arta.
In 1985, Fr. Iakovos was elected to the episcopate by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. On November 23, 1985, he was consecrated Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Argolis.
