The monastery is located in Bombala, New South Wales, and was originally established as ''Transfiguration of the Saviour Skete'' under the [[omophorion]] of His Eminence Archbishop [[Paul (Pavlov) of Sydney|Paul of Sydney]] by [[Archimandrite]] [[Alexis (Rosentool)|Alexis]], who remains the abbot, and currently has three priest-monks (including the [[abbot]]) in residence.
