The [[Theotokos]] and [[Apostle John]] appeared to St. Gregory in a dream, and taught him about the [[Holy Trinity]]. St. Gregory wrote down what was revealed to him.  :"The teaching about the Holy Trinity in Orthodox Theology is based on it.
