Gospel of Luke

5 bytes removed, 02:32, July 31, 2008
Eliminated some redundancy, added note about women.
The Gospel of Luke (literally, "according to Luke") is a synoptic Gospel and the third book in the New Testament canon.
Although the document is internally anonymous, the authorship of this Gospel has been traditionally ascribed to the Apostle Luke, a physician who accompanied the Apostle Paul on some of his missionary travels.  The Gospel of Luke is a synoptic Gospel, and is also the third and longest of the four canonical Gospels of the New Testament. The text narrates the life of Jesus, with particular interest concerning his birth, ministry, death, and resurrection. It ends with an account of the ascension. More emphasis is placed on women than in the other Gospels.
