==Life==
Bishop George Mariusz Pańkowski was born on [[August 4]], 1974. He received his theological education at the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Warsaw, Poland, graduating in 1993 and at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens, graduating in 1999.
He entered the [[Holy Orders]] when he was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] on [[January 1]], 1995. On [[October 15]], 1998, he was [[tonsure]]d a [[monk]] and received the [[monasticism|Monastic]] name George.  On [[May 4]], 1999, Dcn. George was ordained to the [[priest]]hood by the Ecumenical Patriarch [[Bartholomew I (Archontonis) of Constantinople|Bartholomew I of Constantinople]].  On [[April 3]], 2000, Father George was appointed the Prior of the [[Monastery]] of St. Onufry in Jabłeczna and raised to the dignity of [[archimandrite]].
On [[January 28]], 2007, Archim. George was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] to the [[episcopate]] as Bishop of Siemiatycze, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Warsaw-Bielsk.
