==Life==
Bishop Gennadius was born Mikhail Borisovich Gogolev on [[March 10 March ]], 1967 in Leningrad, USSR. After serving in the Armed Forces of the USSR in 1986, Mikhail entered the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary in 1987, graduating with top honors in 1990 and being [[ordination|ordained ]] to the priesthood[[priest]]hood. Fr. Mikhail promptly entered the [[St. Petersburg Theological Academy]], graduating in 1994.
In 1995 , Fr. Mikhail was tonsured [[tonsure]]d a [[monk ]] with the name Gennadius in honor of St. [[Gennadius of Kostroma]]. The same year Fr. Gennadius was appointed rector of the Kostroma Theological School and later rector of a [[parish ]] church in Kostroma. In 1998 [[Igumen ]] Gennadius was elevated to the rank of [[archimandrite]].
In April 2010 , Fr. Gennadius was transferred to the Eparchy of Astana. A month later he was elected Bishop of Kaskelen by the [[Holy Synod ]] of the Russian Orthodox Church. On [[October 10 October ]], 2010 Archimandrite Gennadius was consecrated Bishop of Kaskelen by Patriarch [[Kyrill I (Gundyayev) of Moscow|Cyril of Moscow and All Rus']].
