== Biography ==
Ivan Kurochkin was born in [[March 6]], 1955 in Ishim, USSR. He was [[baptism|baptized]] at St. Nicholas Church in Ishim.
After finishing school, he completed his compulsory military service. In 1977, he was [[tonsure]]d [[subdeacon]] by Bp. Maxim (Krokha) of the Moscow Patriarchate in Omsk. His spiritual fathers were Schemamonk Prochor, and Metropolitan [[Zinovi (Mazhuga) of Tsitsikar (Georgian orthodox church)]] of the [[Church of Georgia]]. Between 1978 and 1982, he studied at the [[Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary|Moscow Theological Seminary]].
In 1982, Ivan was tonsured to the [[Schemamonk|small schema]]. He was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] and then a [[priest]] by Bp. Maxim in Omsk. In 1983, he was elevated to [[Igumen]] and was appointed the confessor of the Omsk-Tiumen Diocese. There, Fr. Evtikhy served in a newly opened [[parish]] in Shablinkin, near Ishim.
In January 1994, he was elevated to [[archimandrite]] in ROCOR.
At the ROCOR [[Sobor]] of Bishops following the [[glorification]] of [[John (Maximovitch) the Wonderworker|Saint John of Shanghai and San Francisco]], Fr. Evtikhy delivered a report on church life in Ishim. The same Council nominated him to the episcopate as Bishop of Ishim and Siberia. Bp. Evtikhy was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] on 10/[[ July 23 July ]], 1994, presided over by Metr. Vitaly.
In the late 1990s, Bp. Evtikhy was out spoken against reconciliation with the Moscow Patriarchate, but later, in 2002, he upheld the decision of the ROCOR [[Synod]] of Bishops that was aimed at expanding the dialogue for reconciliation with the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2003, he participated in the negotiations with the ROC Russian Orthodox Church. He also became a supporter of the restoration of [[full communion]] between ROCOR and the Moscow Patriarchate.On [[December 22]], 2006, Abp. Anthony of Tobolsk and Tyumen, who had prohibited Fr. Eutychy from serving in 1990, released him from those sanctions.
Following the restoration of communion between ROCOR and the [[Church of Russia]] the [[Holy Synod]] of the Russian Orthodox Church on [[May 16]], 2007 appointed Bp. Evtikhy Bishop of Domodedovo, a [[vicar ]] of the Moscow [[diocese]], and entrusted him with temporary pastoral care of the former parishes of the ROCOR in Russia for five years in accordance with the [[Act of Canonical Communion with the Moscow Patriarchate|Act of Canonical Communion]].
Vladika June 7, 2012 for health reasons bishop Eutychius was retire by his own petition. Vladyka Evtikhy is noted for his endless labors towards building up the spiritual life of his flock, his building projects, and for his work with prisoners.
