==Life==
Michael Artemis was born in 1934 in the village Vroutsi[http://www.amorgos-island.gr/english/broutsi.htm] on the Island of Amorgos in the Greek Cyclades. Michael entered the [[Holy Orders]] after he had completed his studies in theology in Athens. He was [[ordination|ordained]] a [[deacon]] with the name of Epiphanius in 1958 followed by his ordination to the [[priest]]hood in 1964. In 1965, Father Epiphanius was named the [[abbot]] of the Monastery of the Panagia Chozoviotissa on Amorgos. As abbot he conducted an extensive restoration of the [[monastery]].

In 2003, Fr. Epiphanius was elected to the [[episcopate]] and was [[consecration of a bishop|consecrated]] Metropolitan of Thera, Amorgos and the Isles on [[January 11]], 2003.
