His Eminence Archbishop '''Elisey (Ganaba) of Sourozh''' is the ruling hierarch of the [[Diocese of Sourozh]] in Great Britain and Ireland. The [[diocese]] is under the [[jurisdiction]] of the [[Church of Russia]].
On [[June 20]], 1987, he joined the brotherhood of [[St. Daniel Monastery (Moscow)|St. Daniel Monastery]] in Moscow and continued his studies at the [[Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary|Moscow Theological Academy]] from which he graduated in 1988.
From [[December 27]], 1988 to [[October 5]], 1992, Fr. Eliseus served as Deputy Chief of the [[Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem]]. On [[January 20]], 1994, he was appointed head of the overseas sector institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church.
On [[October 7]], 2000, Fr. Eliseus was appointed the Representative of Patriarchate of Moscow at the Patriarchate of Antioch in Damascus, Syria. On [[March 12]], 2002, Fr. Eliseus was appointed Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem.
