His Eminence the Most Reverend [[Archbishop]] '''Dmitri (Royster) of Dallas and the South''' is the ruling [[bishop]] of the [[OCA]]'s [[Diocese of the South (OCA)|Diocese of the South]]. He also serves as the OCA's exarch of Mexico. His [[consecration of a bishop|consecration to the episcopate]] is regarded by many as the first of a convert in America.
==Life==
Abp. Dmitri has authored several books. His theological writings include ''Orthodox Christian Teaching: An Introduction to the Orthodox Faith''; ''The Doctrine of Christ''; ''The Parables of Christ''; ''The Miracles of Christ''; ''The Kingdom of God: The Sermon on the Mount''; and ''The Epistle to the Hebrews, A Commentary'', which was published in 2003. His Eminence is currently writing a commentary on the [[Gospel of Mark|Gospel According to St. Mark]]. He is also the editor of ''The Dawn'', the diocesan monthly newsletter.
On [[September 4]], 2008, following the retirement of Metropolitan Herman due to ill health (and pending back surgery), the Holy Synod of the OCA named Abp. Dmitri as the ''[[locum tenens]]'', with Abp. The Holy Synod also named His Eminence, [[Seraphim (Storheim) of Ottawa|Seraphim(Storheim)]] the administrator of the Metropolitan’s [[See]] and to assist the Locum tenenshim. In November of 2008, His Grace, Dmitri's role as ''locum tenens'' ended with the election of Bishop [[Jonah (Paffhausen) of Washington and New York|Jonah of Fort Worth]] was elected ''Archbishop of Washington and New York and as Metropolitan of All America and Canada'' at the [[All-American_Council#Fifteenth_All-American_Council|15th All-American Council of the Orthodox Church in America]].
