The '''Diocese of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand''', headquartered in Sydney, is a [[diocese]] of the [[Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia]]. Its current [[primate]] is His Grace Eminence [[Hilarion (Kapral) of SydneyNew York|Hilarion (Kapral)]], both First Hierarch of [[ROCOR]] and [[Archbishop]] of Sydney, Australia and New Zealand.

The Diocese of Australia and New Zealand is a diocese within the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. Within the diocese, of which the Archbishop Metropolitan Hilarion is currently the head and sole bishop, there are various deans who are in charge of one or more statesgeographic areas. There are 24 approx. 62 [[parish]]es and communitiesin the diocese, along with 6 including 17 [[monasticism|monasteries]] and [[skete]]s , across Australia, as well as 4 23 parishes and communities in Indonesia, 5 parishes and communities in New Zealand, and one mission-church parish (along with one monastic skete) in South Korea.

In February 2005 His Grace Archbishop Hilarion received into the Diocese clergy and parishioners of the On [[Gereja Orthodox Indonesia|Indonesian Orthodox ChurchJuly 4]] who were formerly under , 2009, the jurisdiction First Hierarch of the [[Orthodox Metropolitanate ROCOR, His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Hong Kong Eastern America and Southeast Asia]] ([[Church New York, Archbishop of Constantinople|Ecumenical Patriarchate]])Sydney, and there are now a growing number of parishes and mission centres scattered throughout Indonesia. The Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, as consecrated a part of the new [[Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russiachurch]], is involved in [[Russian_Orthodox_Church_Outside_Russia#Rapprochement_with_Moscow||the process to reenter communion]] with the [[Church honor of St John of Russia]]Shanghai and San Francisco specifically for Orthodox Australian Aboriginals.
