His Eminence Daniel (Dionysios) of Kaisariani, Vyronas and Hymettus is the Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Kaisariani, Vyron and Ymittos. The metropolis is located in the eastern suburbs of Athens, Greece.

Life

Dionysios Pourtsouklis was born in 1952 in New Manolada in Ilia in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. Completing his theological studies in Athens, Dionysios enter the Holy Orders. In 1974, he was ordained a deacon and received the name Daniel. After he was ordained a priest, Father Daniel was raised to the dignity of archimandrite. In 1978, he was appointed the priest of the Church of Holy Demetrias and chancellor of the Holy Synod.

In the year 2000, Father Daniel was elected to the episcopate, and on January 22, 2000, he was consecrated Metropolitan of Kaisariani, Vyronas and Hymettus.
