The '''Holy Archdiocese of Botswana and All the Kalahari''' is a [[diocese]] under the [[jurisdiction]] of the Greek Orthodox [[Church of Alexandria|Patriarchate of Alexandria]] and All Africa. Its territory includes the [[parish]]es and missions located in the nation of [[Botswana]].
The '''Diocese of Botswana''' was established by a Patriarchal and Synodal decree on [[October 7]], 2010 together with the [[Diocese of Mozambique]]. Prior to the formation of the Diocese of Botswana, both territories were part of the [[Archdiocese of Zimbabwe]]. His Grace, [[Gennadios (Stantzios) of Botswana|Gennadios]], who had been elected earlier, was formally [[enthronement|enthroned]] Bishop of Botswana on [[June 2]], 2012 as the first ruling bishop of the [[diocese]]. On [[November 17]], 2016 the bishopric was elevated to an archdiocese, receiving it's current name. It's seat is located in the capital Gabarone.
Communities of the diocese include: Church of St. Nicholas (including the [[chapel]]s of St. Parthenios Bishop of Lampsakos and St. Peter Archbishop of Alexandria) in Gaborone.
